A recent study shows RABA airports have cheaper car parking
A survey undertaken by Admiral Insurance, which was reported in many national newspapers, compares the drive-up price for two weeks car parking across 27 UK airports. It was reported that on average, this costs motorists £95 which is £30 more than the average costs to drivers in Europe.
The results show that 10 of the 15 airports offering the lowest comparative price, were RABA members, whereas only one of the dozen most expensive was, demonstrating once again the significant advantages to air travellers of using their smaller local airports wherever possible.
RABA represents 40 of these smaller airports and is urging the UK Government to ensure better use is made of these valuable assets in its Aviation Strategy planned for next year.
Head of travel at Admiral, Cosmin Sarbu, said “Our report has revealed huge discrepancies in prices in what is essentially the same 2.4m wide space,” and advised, “holidaymakers to do their research and book in advance to get the best possible price.”
