Vanderlande, the global market leader for value-added logistic process automation at airports, have agreed to continue sponsoring the RABA Group for another year.

 

RABA are pleased to announce that global advisory, broking and solutions company, Willis Towers Watson (WTW) have agreed to sponsorship of the Group.

Smiths Detection have agreed to continue sponsoring RABA for another year.

 

RABA are pleased to announce that NATS have agreed to be a sponsor to the Group. NATS is the UK's leading provider of air traffic control services, handling 2.4 million flights and 250 million passengers in UK airspace each year.

Caterleisure, the catering solutions company, have renewed their sponsorship of the RABA Group for another year.

 

Montserrat Barriga has been appointed as the new Director General of the European Regional Airlines Association (ERA). She will take up her position on 1 November 2017.

Responses to the DfT Aviation Strategy Consultation need to be submitted by 13th October, 2017. RABA Group will be preparing a response and if any members would like to input then please let us know. 

In the annual airports survey carried out by Which? consumer group, the Best and Worst small UK airports were revealed. The top 5 airports in the small airports results table are all RABA members. 

The Smart Peripheral and Remote Airports (SPARA) 2020 project is a 3 Year €2.4m Project co funded by the Northern Periphery and Artic Programme 2014 – 2020. It is designed to address some of the challenges facing Peripheral and Remote Airports such as sustaining, future-proofing and delivering community and regional resilience and connectivity.

George Best Belfast City airport has been shortlisted for one of the most prestigious global marketing awards in aviation for a second successive year, with a nomination for the ‘Under 4 Million Passenger’ category of the World Routes Marketing Awards. 

The airport was also revealed to be one of two that were top in the UK for punctuality. On average, flights departing the airport were delayed by just ten minutes. A significantly lower figure than that recorded at other UK airports, with the worst delays averaging 27 minutes.
